Future BALEAP Conferences

We are currently inviting expressions of interest for the 2027 conference. There are numerous benefits to hosting, the following are typically cited by conference and PIM hosts:

– As a unit, we gained more visibility and enhanced our status within our institution

– We were able to increase awareness and understanding of EAP among university colleagues unfamiliar with our field

– We expanded our professional EAP networks through engagement with presenters from a wide variety of institutions, both in the UK and abroad

– We gained an extensive overview of research and scholarship activity related to the conference theme

The deadline for proposals is Friday 30th May 2025.

If your institution is interested in hosting the 2027 Biennial Conference please send an expression of interest to [email protected] using the Conference-Bid-Proposal-Form-2027.

Please refer first to the BALEAP-Biennial-Conference-Bid-Checklist-2027.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Events Officer for an initial discussion if you prefer: [email protected]

Future BALEAP PIMs

Bids for hosting a PIM in March 2026 and June and November 2027 are currently being invited. If your institution might be interested in hosting an online, blended or face-to-face PIM, please send an expression of interest to [email protected] using the PIM Bid Proposal Form 2024-25.

PIMs are one-day meetings, usually held three times a year:

  • March
  • June
  • November

Traditionally, PIMs have followed the format of a mini conference, usually with an opening plenary, parallel sessions of approximately 30 minutes, and e.g. a closing panel
discussion.  However, we welcome variations on this format and ideas for diversifying the structure of the day, providing that these promote the key aims of PIMs, as outlined on the proposal form.

We invite anyone who is interested to complete a bid proposal form. This will help us to ensure that there is a good range of themes/topics and an appropriate geographical range of venues.

Please refer to the Professional Issues Meeting (PIM) Handbook 2023  for more information, and if you have any questions please contact [email protected].
